Summer Cheer Camps In New York

Cheerleading camps in New York are usually open to cheerleaders of all ages.

Summer cheer camps operate each year in New York state and aim to take each camper’s cheer skills to the next level. Camps are typically broken down by age and/or experience, allowing campers to practice with and learn from those with their same general skill level.

Future Stars Summer Camps

At Future Stars Summer Camps, girls ages 7 to 16 work on a variety of cheer skills including chants, jumps, pyramids and dances. The 2010 Future Stars Cheer Camp was held at three New York locations: Purchase College, SUNY College at Old Westbury and Farmingdale State College. Camp dates and pricing information vary, depending on location.

CAN Cheer Camp

CAN Cheer Camp, hosted by Hofstra University, is operated by Christina A. Nowierski, Hofstra’s cheerleading coach. Campers will receive expert training in dancing, cheering, jumping, gymnastics and pyramid building. CAN Cheer Camp is open to girls entering grades two through 12, and individuals and cheer teams of all skill levels are welcome. Each session runs for 10 days. Campers make use of Hofstra University‘s state-of-the-art athletic facilities.

Premier Cheer

Premier Cheer offers several summer cheer camp options, all of which operate in one-week sessions. The Youth Camps, open to cheerleaders ages 5 to 11, incorporates tumbling, dancing, jumping and cheering and culminates in a group performance on the last day of camp. Tumbling Camps, for campers ages 5 to 18, offer three hours of cheerleading training each day. Tryout Prep Camps are targeted toward older campers, age 12 and up, who need a little extra practice before cheer tryouts.
